A major misconception is that Islam does not allow music. Some people believe that those who practice Islam are not allowed to listen to or make music because the Quran states: ¨Music that leads to violence, drugs, sex, etc. is absolutely prohibited." And they think that means all music! But Allah gave David the prophet one of the instruments of the woodwind family to play. So only sinful music that leads to bad decisions is prohibited, not all music!
